World Health Day 2020

Salute to COVID-19 Frontliners on World Health Day 2020

This year, World Health Day (April 7) falls during a particular time as we struggling with the worst pandemic in 100 years. Every day brings sobering news of tragedy & heartache. All at once, the crisis has demonstrated the compassion and determination of our health professionals and their heroic willingness to make personal sacrifices to protect our communities.

In 2020, World Health Day particularly honors & celebrates those on the front lines of keeping us healthy & safe, and we have joined in paying tribute to them.

This year’s World Health Day theme could not be more appropriate as it is dedicated to honoring the unrelenting work of nurses & midwives across the globe. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of nurses & healthcare staffs are leaving behind their comfort & safety to fight the Coronavirus crisis and help those infected or suspects of the disease.

On this day, the World Health Organization (WHO) calls for people to extend their gratitude to nurses and midwives across the world. The organization has named this year the ‘International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife’.

As the entire globe is struggling with the spread of novel coronavirus. Over 1 million people have been infected by the deadly infection while more than 60,000 have lost their lives to COVID-19 infection.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on the occasion of World Health Day and urged the citizens to extend their gratitude towards nurses and healthcare workers who are “battling against the COVID-19 menace”.

This #WorldHealthDay, let us also ensure we follow practices like social distancing which will protect our own lives as well as the lives of others. May this day also inspire us towards focusing on personal fitness through the year, which would help improve our overall health,” PM’s tweet read.

World Health Day this year comes at a very difficult time for all of us. We are more grateful than ever to all of our health workers fighting the #COVID19 pandemic. NextraOne is always grateful & stands with the healthcare Fighters. So around the globe on this World Health Day, we salute their commitment and honor their courage.
